Text messages
When you give us your mobile number on this site and choose “I accept & continue”, you agree to receive the one-time sign-in codes this site texts, and calls or texts from our team about your request.
This site texts only one-time sign-in codes, and only to the number you enter, each time you ask for one. Our messaging provider, Twilio, sends each code for Bergen Optometry and checks the code you type in. The text holds the code and our name, and no appointment or health details. Anyone who can read messages on that phone may see that we sent it.
- If you stop part way through a request, someone from our team may call or text you to help you finish. Nothing is sent automatically.
- One text each time you ask for a code. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop our texts. After that we cannot text you sign-in codes, so please call us to schedule. Reply HELP for help, or call us at 201-482-1216.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
This site does not email sign-in codes or appointment messages. If you give us an email address, our team may use it to contact you about your request.
Your privacy
We use your phone number and email address to send the messages described here and to contact you about your care. If you tap “Fill from my mobile number” in the private booking test, Trestle uses the number to suggest an address for you to check. If you type in the address search field, Smarty receives the street text you type to suggest addresses; it does not receive your name or phone number from that search. Twilio processes your mobile number and each code request to deliver and check your code, and to protect its service from fraud and misuse. We do not sell your number or email, and we do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for marketing.
Your health information is protected as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. Ask for a copy at our office or call us.
